Our Instructors
Sadhvi Abha Saraswati (Mataji)
Mataji is a disciple of H.H. Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji and is director of Parmarth's Gurukul. She has been an avid yoga practitioner since the age of 25, when – through yoga — she cured herself of a terminal kidney ailment called nephritis. Since then she has delved more and more deeply into various forms of yoga and has become not only a practitioner, but also a teacher. Sadhvi Abhaji teaches Yoga Nidra and Nada Yoga (meditation on sound).
Indu
Indu has been a part of the Parmarth family for many years, and lives a life completely dedicated to yoga. Indu received her Masters in Human Consciousness & Yogic Sciences from Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyashala, Shantikunj Haridwar in 2006, and is currently studying for her Ph.D submission on the study of Surya Namaskaras related to Emotional Health and Confidence. Through her academic studies and well as her own personal practice of yoga, she imparts to her classes a well-rounded and holistic approach to the ancient science, ranging from fundamental aspects of yoga to yogic philosophy to meditation and human consciousness.
Jenny
Drawn by a deep spiritual yearning, Jenny came to India for the first time in 2008 and studied Yoga at Parmarth Niketan under the loving guidance of Mataji. When she returned to Germany, she completed a two-year Yoga teachers’ training course in the tradition of Pujya Swami Sivanandaji and Pujya Swami Vishnudevanandaji. While working as a Yoga instructor in her home country, Jenny frequently visits her Parmarth familyevery year to perform seva at the ashram and to deepen her understanding of the ancient science of Yoga.
